A tale about what Minnesota was really like back in the time of the lumberjacks and what it took for a family to survive. There were good times, hard times and sometimes a laugh or two made their lives a bit easier. Wil Morgan did whatever it took to put food on the table and keep a roof over their head.

Pemmican
With Minnesota winters being so hard to survive, native american tribes once made an "energy bar" of their own. They beat out all the other companies by several centuries.
It consisted of animal fat, dried berries, grains and dried meats of many varieties. Now doesn't that sound appealing!
But when you stop to think of all the things dieticians say we need for our daily healthy eating, there it is in one spot. All of the ingredients were mixed thoroughly and then put in deer hide sacks that held about two pounds.
You can find the EBook Kindle edition of this book at Amazon.com and at www.peaceriverbooks.com. The Peace River Books blog is updated each day.
Glad you stopped into "therivercalls" blog. We'll try to put something new here each day.
Good Reading,
Ron
