Voyageurs

In "The River Calls" we write about the Indian neighbors living on the banks of the Bigfork River. These people had lived there for centuries. And so when we hear about the white explorers discovering these Native Americans, it leaves a bad taste in their mouthes.
In case no one noticed, they didn't need to be discovered. They knew well who they were and where they were. The white men who were invited to winter in their camps, brought a wide variety of diseases that nearly destroyed these great civilizations.
And so even today, there remains a rift between the whites and the indian cultures. The indians have been given areas called reservations, but they owned this land already and didn't need to be given any land.
I invite you to visit "The River Calls" blog site each day for a small look into what life was like a long time ago.
You can find the EBook Kindle edition of "The River Calls" at Amazon.com and at www.peaceriverbooks.com. The Peace River Books blog is updated each day.
Glad you stopped into "therivercalls" blog. We'll try to put something new here each day.
Good Reading,
Ron
